Sovetskaya street

The paving stones, laid back in 1938 on Sovetskaya Street, have not been driven by cars for a long time: this is the main pedestrian place in the city. Both in the warm season and on winter holidays, concerts, fairs, and street performances are held here. Every two years in the summer, a unique multinational procession takes place along Sovetskaya: Grodno hosts the Festival of National Cultures, where representatives of various diasporas gather to show authentic traditions, treat each other with national dishes, surprise with folk songs and dances.
